Not Your Mother's Smooth Moves Frizz Control Hair Cream

I received Not Your Mothers Smooth Moves Frizz Control Hair Cream in my Influenster voxbox.  I was very excited to see this in my box as I have heard many rave about this product online.

Not Your Mothers Smooth Moves Frizz Control Hair Cream (Retail $6.00) is a product that claims it will DE-frizz, straighten, and add shine to your hair.

My hair tends to be very frizzy if I don’t apply any product especially if I allow my hair to air dry.  As much as I need frizz control products I dislike that the majority of them tend to be in the form of serums or oils that can weigh my hair down.   I was excited to see that it was a cream I just could not wait to try it.  Plus it smells like coconut, which I love.

Last night after my shower I applied the product into my slightly towel dried hair.  I really liked the creamy texture of the product and the scent is just fabulous.  I know some people are not fans of coconut, but I myself really love the sweet scent.  I noticed that a little bit goes a long way and it did not make my hair greasy.   Although you can blow dry hair after applying the product; I decided to let my hair air dry as I wanted to see how it would dry naturally.  Not to mention it was time for bed and didn't feel like staying up to blow dry it.  As my hair was drying i noticed it had a great shine to it.  The next morning I still absolutely loved the finish it gave my hair.  The result was frizz free, soft and shiny hair.  Influenster has sent me a winner!

Verdict 1-10:  I give this product a 9!  I will absolutely be purchasing this product and cant wait to try out their way to grow shampoo and conditioner.

Goody Simple Styles Spin Pin

I was excited to receive a pair of spin pins in my Influenster voxbox.   I'd seen these before at Target and Walmart, but never purchased as I didn't think they would hold up my hair.  Goody’s Simple Styles Spin Pins (Retail $7.29) come in a pair.  They have two sizes a standard and mini and come in two colors light and brunette.


I absolutely adore the top knot, undone bun and side buns may women have been wearing lately, but I just can’t get the look without it looking like a pin cushion.  I always end up using a hair tie and a handful of bobby pins. The spin pins help achieve the same chic up-do in as little as two minutes.  I have dark hair and received the light color hair pins in my box, but it wasn't a problem as once they are in they are not visible.  I have long, thick, layered hair that goes down my back the two pins kept it in place all day.

Spin Pins are easy to use. First gather hair at the desired height and twist into a bun.  Next spin a pin in from the top, bottom or side.  Whichever way you decide to put in the first one just place the other one on the opposite side.  Once both pins are in get on with your day because you’re done.  They are that quick and easy to use.  To remove just twist the pins out. 

Verdict 1-10:  I absolutely love them, I give them a 10!

Kiss Ever PRO Lash Starter Kit

I received a new Kiss Ever PRO Lash Starter Kit in my Influenster Beauty Blogger VoxBox.  (Retail $4.99)

Kiss lashes are not new to me as I have purchased a pair or two in the past.  What is great about Kiss lashes is that they are an affordable brand that can be found a most drugstores. 

The kit I received include:

• 1 pair of Eyelashes
• 1 3g Adhesive tube
• 1 PRO Lash Applicator.

The lashes are very easy to apply just like any other brand.  The difference with these is that an applicator is included.  The applicator is just a pink plastic tweezers that can be used to hold up the lash to the eyelid.  To apply simply put a small amount of lash glue on the band and let set for 30 seconds.  Next apply the lashes along the natural lash line and hold lash until adhesive is dry completely.  To make sure lashes are secure to lid I recommend using one or two coats of mascara.

I really like this set in particular because the lashes are very full.  They are cut so that they look natural.  Looking at them up close it seems they are cut at alternating lengths which is what makes them look natural.  The application was very easy, the lash glue included states they can hold up for up to 24hours.  I myself had them on for over 10 hours.  They held up great.  I did apply two coats of mascara.  
 
Each time I have used Kiss lashes I have not had any problems with them coming off.  The only problem which is natural with any false lash is the need to trim a the lash size to fit my eyes.  I am not one to wear lashes on a daily basis, but I can see my self wearing these daily as they are affordable and comparable to more expensive brands.

Lashes can be reused a few times by soaking a cotton ball or q-tip with makeup remover to remove the glue residue along the lash line. 

Verdict 1-10: I rate this kit a 9. I would repurchase this kit, I really like the quality of the lashes and the convenience of everything being included in the package at an affordable price.

Bath & Body Works Fall Mini Candle

I received a mini Bath and Body Works candle in my Influenster Beauty Blogger VoxBox.  As soon as I opened the box I could smell a wonderful scent.
 
Bath & Body Works has a variety of candles in many different scents and sizes.  Many available year round and others only available for a limited time depending on the season.  The candles all come in a clear glass container.  There are three sizes of candles 1.3 oz, 4 oz, and 14.5 oz.


I received a 1.3 oz mini Cider Lane.  It smells delicious.  In my opinion it’s a blend of apple cider, cinnamon and caramel.  It makes a great fall scent.  I just love Bath and Body works candles, every scent is wonderful.  In my opinion the fall scents are the best I make sure to stock up on them.   The mini candles are perfect for sampling scents; they are inexpensive and can be a great alternative for those who would rather not pay for the larger three wick candles. 


Verdict 1-10: I absolutely love Bath &Body Works candles I give this a 10.

NYC New York Color IndividualEyes Custom Compact

It's been over a week or so since I received my first Influenster voxbox and have had a chance to try out most of the products.  The first product I tried was of course the NYC New York Color Individual Eyes Custom Compact (Retail price $4.99)

My first impression of the eye pallet at a glance was; how awesome is this!



The eye compact is an all-in-one compact that provides everything need to get a complete eye look: primer, illuminator, applicator and complementing shadows. NYC designs pallets are designed to complement specific eye colors. I didn’t receive a specific eye color pallet.  The seal said it is a limited edition. 


The colors I received are beautiful, great for a smokey eye. Added bonus a base primer and illuminator included.  This was my first time trying any NYC eye shadow product.  The eye shadow compact I received was in the color Dark Shadows 0156-08.  
 
Begin with the packaging itself, it is the standard plastic black bottom with a clear hinged lid cover.  Great size in my opinion, not to big not to small about 3inches x 2.5 inches or so.  My only concern is that I have a tendency to be slightly rough with my products when I’m in a hurry therefore I think I will eventually crack the hinge. I like that the back of the compact pallet includes a diagram of how to apply the shadows.  This seems like a great pallet for a beginner.

Now on to the colors and extras, there are four complementing eye shadows that can be used together or alone to create various looks.  The compact comes with an allover lid color (Light Blue/Silver shimmer), 2 crease/contour colors (Slate Blue shimmer and Navy/Gray shimmer), and highlighter color (White shimmer).  Included as well are a base primer, illuminator, and double ended application sponge.  I don’t use the sponges at all; therefore I cannot say if it applies color well or not.  The colors are highly pigmented for a drugstore product in my opinion.  The swatches above are just one quick swatch.  They are absolutely build able to create various looks.  The base primer included is opaque and holds color fairly well.  The illuminator seems to be cream version of the highlight color included.  The all over shade color and the lighter of the two crease/contour colors have the tendency to have fallout when applied, which also gets into the illuminator.  Given all shadow colors are shimmers, the bit of fallout can be a problem for those who tend to do their eyes after their foundation such as I do.  After experiencing the fallout the next day I applied the shadows prior to doing my foundation and had no issues covering up the little bit of fallout.
  

Verdict 1-10: I give it an 8, I would repurchase.  The packaging is not a problem for me as I see it as a great deal for the price.  I would have liked if not all the colors were shimmers having a matte color included would have made it a better pallet in my opinion.

About a week or two ago I received my first Influenster voxbox.  If you don’t know what a voxbox is go back and check out my previous post.  I was so excited to get it I could hardly wait.  I was tracking my box from the moment I received my tracking email.  The wait was totally worth it in my opinion.  I got a great haul of beauty, hair, and home products.
